All our punk fans might be interested in a new development for Sounds of the Suburbs. Alongside our regular gigs where we play a full repertoire of songs including punk, rock & indie, we wanted to do the occasional gigs where we play JUST PUNK all night. We intend to call these special one-off gigs our 'Punk Tribute' gigs.
If you like the sound of this get in touch and let us know where you would like us to arrange a Punk Tribute night and a venue happy to host one. We think there is demand as we are often asked to add particular punk songs to the set so we know some of our audience are very keen punk fans. We would love to make this a regular feature of our gig schedule but it will probably take time to build and we anticipate our first Punk Tribute night will be later in the year once we've had time to find the right venue.
We also need your help! We think it would be a great idea to show some photo's of that era during the show so if you are happy to submit pictures from your punk collection to us we would love to show them live on stage while we are playing, so you get to be a real part of our show! Anything would be of interest to us, pictures of punk gigs you were at, you/your mates, stuff you did together, iconic records you bought, badges collection, anything really.

Summer/Autumn 2011
It's been a busy year so far as we approach the half-way mark. The band have had some fantastic gigs and enjoyed some brilliant feedback and great reviews too! We have had to make a few changes to our venues listing as we feel that the type of music we perform appeals to the older more appreciate audience (the younger ones just don't get the punk thing!), generally speaking and some venues just don't work for us.
As such, we've had to cancel a few venues from our rosta and now we are looking to replace them. At the moment we now have availability for the following weekends if you want to book us: FRI/SAT 9th/10th SEPT, FRI/SAT 18th/19th NOV, FRI/SAT 24th/25th NOV.
If you know of a pub where we might be suitable seeking entertainment please recommend us, or if you want some great entertainment for your party or function, get in touch with Fran on franb1@aol.com

Band Availability

Sounds of the Suburbs have been working on our diary dates for 2011 and have had to make a few changes to bookings already in the diary to accommodate some personal holiday time for the band, sorry if new gig listings may look a little different to those that you may have seen at a gig or online before now. We have updated all online gig listings on both this website and www.lemonrock.com/soundsofthesuburbs so they should be accurate.
Please note, Sounds of the Suburbs are no longer booked to play at one of our previous regular venues, The Fox & Hounds in Church Crookham Fleet so please disregard any dates you may have previously seen advertised at this venue and DO NOT GO HERE TO SEE US ANYMORE as the landlord decided we were too loud to play here despite giving him some capacity nights but hey it's his business yada yada.
**Stop Press News** Mr Bumble in Blackwater have just booked us to play a special Royal Wedding gig there on the new Bank Holiday, Fri 29th April so come down for what we hope will be a whole day of partying and fun stuff with SOTS appearing in the evening to finish off a good old fashioned knees-up.
Other changes include our gig booked at The Swan in Farnborough on Sat 30th April... due to the Royal Wedding weekend, the pub have decided to have a full 2 day beer festival on the Saturday and Sunday with bands playing all day so now we are playing there together with a host of other bands for a big ol' party but it won't be a regular SOTS gig.. lots of other bands and it's OUTSIDE in the beer garden too so should be a right ol' laugh!
There really are only a few dates left in the diary available..for either private hire or public events so if you know of anyone looking for a great punk/indie/rock covers band on these dates, get in touch!

Update No. 2!
Despite Fran suffering with throat problems due to a bad cold she managed to pull off a passable vocal performance for our gig at The Swan Inn, Farnborough on Sat 12th Feb. As it turned out at the end of the gig, the band discovered that Richard, our hardworking bassist was also suffering in secret with some kind of bug and had indeed spent the whole of our second set trying not to throw up! We are very thankful that he managed to keep that to himself as not quite sure what our audience would have made of that little scenario..ewww infact let's not think about it. He said he was trying to decide whether he would have time to get his bass off and find a place to do it in time! But all horrible ill health aside, the band actually had a really great night, with another busy crowd in this well populated pub, as it turned out, a lot of whom had specifically come to see us, we are forever grateful for your support it really does make it all worth while!
Next gig is Sat 19 Feb at The Rowbarge in Guildford where we understand that Mark the very lovely landlord is undertaking a public leg wax all for a great charity during our interval so do come down and enjoy SOTS doing it live and support the brave landlord in the process!

Thank you for visiting our new website we hope you like it! We felt the band's image needed a little updating so we have improved our website content and images a little.
